
On the gangway of the veteran steam tug Yelta, long time Exeter resident Robert Wright proudly displays the Key to Port Adelaide presented to the Merchant Navy by the City of Port Adelaide Enfield.
Robert and the rest of the Yelta crew behind him are among local volunteers who maintain and sail the only working steam tug in Australia.
Port Adelaide Enfield Mayor Gary Johanson presented the Key to Port Adelaide in a ceremony at the Civic Centre on September 3 and it will go on permanent display in the Seafarers Centre.
A number of Semaphore and Port Adelaide residents are volunteers on local maritime history projects.
